“I love assembling anything, be it interiors, jewellery, clothes and painting. Patterns intrigue me.
I am now producing collages, painting and drawing on the pieces using old architectural and historical books and magazines. Reworking into new forms, exploring negatives and creating a new life from discarded things.
I love that I am giving new life to things (books and magazines) that haven’t been opened or looked at in years. Early exposure and admiration of Chagall, Dada and Surrealist art have provided influence around the notion of a collection of imagery to be reformed with new meaning, an absorption in the creation of a magical world.
Repurposed, re-loved, I love to hunt for old things that have the patina of age, a whole new perspective of sustainability. What I find in my hunting determines the look of what I am producing. This is part of what interests me. Also the history of collage in all movements of art has influenced me.”
